Western Maricopa County consists of 15 communities including Avondale, Buckeye, El Mirage, Gila Bend, Glendale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Peoria, West Phoenix, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Tolleson, Wickenburg and Youngtown. These communities are often referred to as a region more commonly known as the “West Valley.” The West Valley represents 35% of the population and 2,799.69 square miles in the Phoenix-metro area.
